Step-by-Step Instructions

1

Cut your leader — roughly 60–90 cm of 10–12 lb fluorocarbon.

2

Tie the swivel to the end of your main line with a uni knot or improved clinch knot.

3

Tie the leader to the other end of the swivel.

4

Slide your sinker onto the leader, followed by the optional red / lumo attractor bead.

5

Tie a dropper loop 20–30 cm above the sinker and attach a #6 long shank hook. Add an optional second dropper loop another 20–30 cm up.

6

Trim your tags, check every knot, and you're rigged.

HOW TO FISH IT

Cast to sand patches or channel edges, let the sinker settle, keep a slight bend in the rod and wait for the tell-tale whiting tap. Berley lightly to draw fish to your baits.

WHEN TO USE IT

Ideal for bait fishing over sand and seagrass edges from shore, jetty or boat — any time you want baits sitting naturally near the bottom, clear of snags.

VARIATIONS

Running sinker paternoster for shy fish; heavier sinkers for deeper water or current; a two-dropper setup when the fish are firing.

COMMON MISTAKES

Droppers too short (bait buried in the sand), hooks too large, and striking too hard on the first tap.
