Recovery Gear
What we actually carry for recovery and remote travel
The recovery equipment fitted to or carried with our Y62 Patrol — winch, recovery points, air and the gear we rely on when things go sideways.
Back to 4WD
Recovery gear is only useful if it is rated for the job, fitted properly, and actually with you. This is the equipment we personally carry and use on our Y62.
Winch & Recovery Points
VRS 12,500lb winch
A fully loaded touring wagon needs a winch rated appropriately for its weight. The wireless remote allows safer and easier operation, particularly when travelling solo.
Roadsafe front recovery points
Proper recovery points ensure any recovery can be carried out safely and correctly.
Air & Tyre Management
ARB Compressor & Pressure Control
Read our reviewOur ARB onboard air compressor with Pressure Control — set the target PSI from the phone and the system handles inflation and deflation. Paired with a 7m ARB hose and ARB tyre inflator/gauge.
ARB Pressure Control system
The pressure control module with Bluetooth removes guesswork and allows accurate, repeatable pressure settings, making tyre management easier and more consistent.
Recovery Boards
MAXTRAX MKII
Read our reviewFour Australian-made recovery boards permanently mounted to the roof rack — our full review of why we carry them and why we wouldn't travel without them.
Jump Starter & Emergency Power
GOOLOO GT4000S Jump Starter
Read our reviewThe 4000A portable jump starter we carry in the Patrol — we've already used it to start the Y62 with a failing battery and to revive our shut-down Kings auxiliary battery using Boost Mode.
